Get a Handle On It – Door Handles, Mirrors and More

Original door handles and exterior mirrors are components that are always exposed to the elements and as a result, they often look far more battered and worn than the rest of your classic GM car, especially if the final paint and body work has already been completed. Interior door handles, window cranks and mirrors can take a lot of abuse too, and they can also look pretty worn out inside an otherwise immaculately restored interior. Although preserving original General Motors…

Stop & Turn: Brake & Suspension Mods

When Original Parts Group Inc. (OPGI) started working with the guys from HOT ROD Garage on the 1970 Chevelle SS 454 tribute car known as “The Executive Chevelle,” the project broke new ground. The Chevelle was built from the start as a modified car using aftermarket parts and as such was the first vehicle in the OPGI fleet that was not built out as a 100%, factory-spec restoration. In Praise of the 1960 – 1969 Corvair

Late Model on the move! Unlike the one-size-fits-all, large-bodied cars produced by the “big three” American manufacturers up to 1960, the Chevrolet Corvair manufactured by General Motors (GM) from 1960 to 1969 was a smaller, unconventional vehicle in many ways. The Corvair was the only USA produced passenger car to employ an air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine constructed with many major components made from aluminum. The engine was rear mounted and drove the rear wheels through a transaxle. The innovative…

Here, OPGI Sourcing Specialist Casey Mohr takes a spin behind the wheel of OPGI's 1970 "Executive" Chevelle Project Car while OPGI Photographer Carlos Gonzalez documents the donut-making from on…

The confusion may stem from the fact that Seal Beach is just one of many small beach towns that populate the California coast along the Pacific Coast Highway (State Route 1) as it winds its way through both Los Angeles and Orange counties.
